Merge Locks

Lock merging allows you to consolidate multiple separate locks into a single, more powerful lock. This is useful for:

  • Simplifying lock management
  • Combining voting power for more impact
  • Reducing the number of transactions needed for operations

Merge Process:

  1. Select “Merge” from the manage menu of your first lock merge lock

  2. Choose a second lock ID to merge with from your available locks merge lock

  3. Review the individual veDXLYN balances displayed for each lock merge lock

  4. Understand the merge outcome:

  • Total Balance: Both veDXLYN amounts are added together
  • Lock Duration: The merged lock inherits the longer of the two durations
  • No Duration Reset: Your maximum time-to-unlock remains unchanged
  1. Pre-Merge Actions (if applicable):
  • Claim Rebase: If unclaimed rebase rewards exist on either lock, you’ll be prompted to claim them first through a wallet transaction
  • Vote Reset: If either lock has active votes, those votes will be reset to zero
  • This reset means you won’t receive emission rewards tied to those votes until you vote again
  • This is necessary because merged locks create a new entity requiring new vote allocation

merge lock

  1. Confirm the merge transaction in your wallet

  2. The new merged lock appears with:

  • Combined veDXLYN balance
  • Updated total voting power
  • Maximum duration from the two source locks
  • A new lock ID for future reference

Important Considerations:

  • Merging is irreversible you cannot “un-merge” locks later
  • Always verify the locks you’re merging before confirming
  • Claim any pending rewards before merging to avoid complications
