Extend Lock Duration
Lock extension allows you to increase the remaining time on your lock, which in turn increases your veDXLYN voting power. This is ideal when:
- You want to maintain or increase your governance influence
- You’re bullish on the protocol’s long-term prospects
- You want to maximize rebase rewards
- Your current lock is approaching expiration
Extension Parameters:
- Maximum Duration: 4 years total from the current date
- Eligibility: You can only extend if your total duration is currently less than 4 years
- Frequency: Once per epoch (once per week)
- Available Increments: 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, or directly to 4 years (maximum)
Extension Process:

Navigate to your lock and select “Extend”

Choose your desired extension period from the available options

The system displays:
- Current unlock date
- New unlock date after extension
- Current veDXLYN balance
- Projected veDXLYN balance after extension
- Voting Power Recalculation:
- Your veDXLYN is automatically recalculated based on the new total duration
- The increase is proportional to the time added
- Your voting power in pools updates immediately upon confirmation

Confirm the wallet transaction with applicable fees

Your lock updates instantly with:
- Extended expiry date
- Increased veDXLYN balance
- Maintained token amount (no additional lock required)
- Same lock ID
Extension Example:
- Current lock: 1,000 DXLYN with 6 months remaining (125 veDXLYN)
- Extend by 1.5 years
- New state: 1,000 DXLYN with 2 years remaining (500 veDXLYN)
- veDXLYN quadrupled without locking additional tokens
